Prostitution and Trafficking Laws
Ohio
In Ohio, all aspects of the sex trade —whether selling sex, buying sex, promoting it, or profiting from it—are completely illegal. Ohio has distinct laws for purchasing sexual services (engaging in prostitution) and selling sexual services (prostitution). Ohio survivors have the ability to vacate convictions but must prove the underlying offense and subsequent record was “proximately caused by” or “as a direct result of” being trafficked. Survivors in Ohio can vacate convictions if the conviction was “as a result” of trafficking.
