Nevada
Nevada is the only state in the nation with legalized prostitution, although there are limits. Nevada law prohibits solicitation and prostitution unless it takes place in a licensed house of prostitution. State law bans licensed brothels in counties with populations of 700,000 or more (currently Clark County, home of Las Vegas).
There are ten counties in Nevada that allow prostitution, and it must be within licensed brothels. Prostitution is illegal in Clark, Washoe, Carson City, Pershing, Douglas, Eureka and Lincoln counties. That includes Las Vegas and Reno, as well as the state capital.
Nevada allows survivors to vacate convictions that were “as a result” of trafficking. This is less restrictive than other states and will allow more survivors to access relief.
