Alaska
In Alaska, all aspects of the sex trade—whether selling sex, buying sex, promoting it, or profiting from it—are completely illegal. The law treats both buying and selling sex the same, meaning a person can be charged with the same crime whether they're purchasing or providing sexual services. A newly enacted law creates a felony offense if an individual solicits sexual services from a sex trafficking victim. Alaska does not currently have a trafficking-specific criminal record relief statute. However, Alaska is one of the few states to have an immunity law, which allows a prostituted or trafficked person to report a crime without fear of a prostitution arrest.
