Laura Mahr, Esq. is the founder of Conscious Legal Minds LLC, providing mindfulness-based wellness coaching, training, and consulting for nonprofits, law firms, and other businesses nationwide. Her cutting-edge work to build resilience to burnout, stress, and vicarious trauma is informed by 13 years of practice as a civil sexual assault attorney. Her experience as a sexual assault lawyer fuels her passion for educating the anti-sexual violence movement about how to identify and mitigate vicarious trauma. Laura incorporates two decades of experience as an educator and professional trainer, 25 years as a student and teacher of mindfulness and yoga, and a current passion for and student of neuroscience, neuropsychology, and neurobiology into her work. After bringing herself back from the brink of burnout with the tools she now teaches, Laura brings lived experience and compassion to thousands of lawyers and advocates through her writing, presentations, and coaching each year. In the past four months alone, she has trained over 10,000 lawyers, judges, professors, and anti-sexual violence and anti-sex trafficking advocates about how to stay resilient during the pandemic. Laura authors the Pathways to Well-Being column in the North Carolina State Bar Journal and the Mindful Moment column in the North Carolina Lawyer Assistance Program publication.
