Jessica-Wind Abolafia is the Senior Program Director of the Anti-Trafficking Initiative (ATI) at Sanctuary for Families. Ms. Abolafia provides direct representation and oversees a team of attorneys and case managers who provide trauma-informed, legal and supportive services for domestic and immigrant survivors of human trafficking and co-occurring forms of gender-based violence, including immigration, criminal justice and family law counsel as well as assistance accessing medical care, public benefits, shelter, funding sources and other critical necessities. In its criminal law practice, ATI represents victim-witnesses cooperating with state and federal law enforcement investigations and prosecutions of large-scale human trafficking rings. Ms. Abolafia previously worked as a commercial litigator and later, consultant providing analysis on national safe harbor laws and legislation for PACT (Protect All Children from Trafficking, formerly ECPAT-USA), the American arm of an international organization working to eradicate commercial sexual exploitation of children. She is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School and a bilingual English/Spanish speaker.
