Benjamin Gauen is a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney with the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. Assigned to the Special Assault Unit, his work focuses exclusively on combating crimes related to human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. He has nearly 10 years of extensive felony trial experience specializing in cases involving sex trafficking, sexual assault, child abuse, and domestic violence.
Ben leads his office's involvement in the Ending Exploitation Collaborative (EEC) in King County. The EEC's survivor-informed, multi sector approach has resulted in concrete changes in criminal justice practices, technological interventions, and workplace policies that reduce victimization and hold sex buyers accountable. Ben is a member of several anti-trafficking task forces in Washington State and frequently works with policy makers in an effort to help victims. He conducts training on sex trafficking for prosecutors and law enforcement around the United States. Ben serves on the board of directors for the local non-profit organizations Stolen Youth and University Beyond Bars."
